I was doing a bit of work on a friend's 80 MGB
today (replaced valve cover gasket, adjusted rear
brakes).
Her car has a different oil filler cap from my 76
(it's really the same looking, just much taller -
they're both the variety that lists names of oils
in a circle).
The problem: there is smoke coming from around the
filler cap. I know that vapors move around inside
the valve cover, but I've never seen them seep out
on my B. Anyone know what causes this and how to
fix it?
