I have a removeable front panel stereo in my B and velcro mounted speakers 
behind the seats.  I just throw a towel or something over them and take the 
front.  Have had no trouble in some pretty poor Chicago neighborhoods.  My 
locks but I prefer to leave it open and not leave anything inside that I 
would freak about loosing.  It's a habit I picked up in the boat yards in the 
city.
