As said elsewhere you need to dismantle the assembly.  With the front of the
car safely, repeat safely supported use your hydraulic jack under the spring
pan just to lift the upper arm off its bump stop, not support the car.
Remove the top bolt from the king pin and lower the jack all the way.  You
can then push the lower arm down sufficiently to remove the spring, then
proceed with the rest of the dismantling.
