Now I'm down to the Camry (my wife's car), my great '68 BGT, my '91 Ranger
(bought with the proceeds from my recently sold 77B roadster) and my MG PA.
Looking back, I remember the absolute fastest acceleration was from the Olds
4-4-2, with the DB6 Vantage a close second - but that car handled as well!
The best handling was the Lotus Europa, the all-around most fun was the Saab
Turbo, the best town car the MG 1100, the absolute most practical and at the
same time fun-to-drive was, surprisingly, the '74 Dodge van (modified
suspension, hopped up engine, excellent tires). The Austin-Healeys and the
TR6 were disappointing, although the 100-4 was not bad. All the MGs were
great (of course) and my racing special (which was driven about 6K miles on
the road while I had it) was really fun. The absolute worst of the bunch -
including the pre-war cars - was the Datsun 610 wagon!
