The best way to remove this trim is to cut the gasket. This will prevent the
twisting and deformatiom of the 02soft Aluminum Trim. As for dents, Take a
small body hammer with a flat pick end. Place the trim on a rubber block and
lightly push the dent out. Polish with a "MicroMesh Kit" taking the trim
through all the grades of wet/dry (1500-6000) then polish with trim polish. I
have tried the oven cleaner trick to remove the AL clad that delvelops on all
AL trim, the problem is, the clad is removed unevenly. The MicroMesh way is
alittle labor intensive, but works Good. Final polishing can be buffed on a
wheel, but tape the trim to a board. EASTWOOD has the micromesh kit. If your
trim is bent badly, find a donor and cut the gaskets to remove!!!!!!!!! Have
a Old timer Auto Glass guy do the installation. Ask Around your Area!!!! I
had a guy do mine (Front & Back) for $100. He had the car for a weekend.
Remove the rain gutter trim by drilling out the poprivets with a 1/8 drill.
There may be some black caulk underneath, but should not prevent the removal.
Take your time, each piece is expensive to replace!!!!!Polish as stated
above. Good Luck!!!
