Same symptom on my C roadster - 60mph vibration, 70 mph no vibration.
Didn't really think it was problem though because 60 MPH is a speed a C
only passes through while accelerating or slowing down. No respectable C
would actually cruise at such a languid rate (unless, of course, it was
forced to by external factors such as caravanning with lesser
nameplates/marques, the law or dare I say ... following Macy in his
Midget). No matter, when I put new rubbers on and rebalanced the wheels,
the problem was gone.

My V8 suffered severe intermittent vibration at around 70 mph for the life
of one set of tyres. I found that if I was on a long curve (say left-hand)
the vibration would fade in and out at a certain rate, and when I was on a
long curve the other way it would fade in and out at a much slower rate. I
came to the conclusion that both wheels were unbalanced and 'beating' with
each other. I had them rebalanced several times, both using the centre
hole
and the stud holes but it had little effect. I also started locating the
wheels using two Rostyle bolts before fitting and tightening the first two
V8 bolts (they don't have tapers) which did improve things a bit further
but
not much. The tyres that came with the car didn't do it, and the 2nd
replacement set don't do it either. I came to the conclusion they were
just
c**p tyres.
