"British Trade Secretary
Stephen Byers said Towers' plan ``offers a better prospect
 than perhaps anything else.''

A better prospect for what? Towers has already been part of a management
team that has tried and failed, one of about half-a-dozen over the past 25
years. I really don't know why no-one can make a go of it given the
investment (maybe that is the problem) with apparent success by the likes of
Honda, Toyota and Peugot.

One thing is for sure. If Towers succeeds in place of Alchemy more Rover
workers will keep their jobs for longer, but you can forget a new MG - for
Europe never mind North America.
