Neon lights have more merit than one might think. There are a bunch of
Austin Healeys running around New England that have one of the licence
plate neons mounted under the rear of the car. At night, the glow makes
the Healey a lot more visible at a much greater distance. Using just the
OEM lights, the Healey appears smaller and farther away than it really
is.
