Saturday, a date which I hope will not live in infamy, an 1954 MG TF
arrived in my driveway. Does anyone have one of these lil beauties? I
cant
seem to find a list comparable to this list. One I have found is for T
series, but only the ABC models. I have ordered the "Original MG T
Series"
( equivelent to Horlers) but dont have it yet. My most pressing question
concerns the serial number on the car. It is shown as
TF 12342. From the limited info I could scrounge from various places on
the
net, I find that less than 10,000 were built and therefore the serial
number
on this car may be bogus. It is also seems to be in the wrong location
and
one data plate may be missing. Can anyone give me some enlightened
guidance? I may be able to decline (whine/weasel out of) the deal, if as
I
suspect, there's something funny about the serial number. The title, of
course, reflects the serial number. The car is nice, but I dont want to
be
two years down the road and unable to sell the car to someone who is at
least as smart as I should have been Saturday. I am seeing the seller
this
morning so time is of some importance. Thanks, Larry
