On my '71 MGB my brake master cylinder (tandem unit, circular reservoir)
finally quit. It was at least 7 years old. I put in a new master cylinder,
ran it for about two weeks, and it started leaking fluid down the pedal. The
location of the leak was on the pushrod end of the unit. The fluid was
leaking out the weep hole (guess that's why they put it there) in the pushrod
accordion boot. I put in a second master cylinder - after about a week, same
problem. That pushrod area is not one you touch in the swap out. I've stuck
strictly to Castrol LMA brake fluid. Is anybody else getting defective
units master cylinders? It's too painful to contemplate doing this job again
and finding out that I have another bad unit.

                                    George
