I disregarded the "odd looking" linkages and hoses because the car is a 
Midget. I figured maybe they are supposed to be a bit different from the B 
and BGT configurations we are accustomed to. But the floats were off to the 
side, much like I would expect in a 1972 or older MG. But I still, for some 
reason, think this later Midget should have a different style carb setup 
than this, I'm just waiting for some of the Midget owners to say something.

The throttle shafts are easy to check - I just see if there is any wobble 
on the brass part protruding from the carb. My 71 BGT's are quite firm 
since they were replaced with new bearings about ten years ago. My 67 BGT, 
however, failed this test although they are not too loose. But I did 
contact Lawrie and I'll eventually have him fix them, whenever I get around 
to taking them off.
