The higher pressures will make the turn-in feel more precise (less 
"sloppy" as you say), but in normal street use will result in excess wear 
of the center portion of the tread (in my experience). If you aren't 
concerned with tire life on the street, I agree, it feels much more 
responsive. On the track, aggressive cornering probably equals out the 
wear on the edges, although overall wear will be greatly accelerated, of 
course (compared to street use).
