If you go to the front of the car and look at one of the front wheels and the
tire is leaning in at the top, it has negative camber. If the tire is
leaning outward at the top, this is positive camber. Now go to the side of
your car and look at the tire. In your mind look throught the tire at the
spindle that goes between the lower arm and the shock top. If the top of the
spindle is leaning forward in relation to the lower arm, this is positive
caster. If it is leaning back, it is negative camber. Go to the front of
the car again and look at the tires. If one tire is turned in somewhat, this
means that the tire is towed in. If one is pointed outward, this is towed
out. If the toe in or camber is off, the tires will wear. Caster will not
usually make the tires wear but will make the car handle wierd. I have use
the phrase "look at the tire and if it is leaning" most often you can not
really see the tire leaning too much, it's a figure of speach. These
measurements are usually taken in degrees.
