Paul,
     I would certainly contact seller and explain what happened and that you
have contacted your friends on the WWW and they suggested you go back to the
seller and see what they can do for you. And of course we all want to know
what the results are, because a lot of us are looking for new shocks and a
good place to buy them.   I think you'll be seeing a replacement set real
soon, and if not I sure want to know about it.
    FYI, I used Apple last year and the 3rd time was a charm. Very poor
quality control in this area as discussed earlier on the list.
    I sympathize with you cause we all know this is a  hell of job to do
over again.
