Dan,
You're on the right track for fixing the soft brake pedal -- needs bleeding.
BUT you need to find out the cause -- where is air getting in?
You might as well find out where it's leaking now since if it was good
before, and is bad now...bleeding the air out will only be a temporary fix.
If you don't fix the leak, you'll just be wasting time bleeding the system
and it will only get worse with time.
