Well everyone was right about replacing the positive battery cable on the
79B, what a dirty pain in the keester job!! but it is done! We also put in
one of those battery boxes and that was another task trying to fit the
cables through with the box, therewasn't room but finally it fits!! Also
after buying the battery box we discovered the battery in the car wouldn't
fit! That is probably why the battery was so hard to get out! But now there
is the right battery and all is well with that. We also installed the new
ignition switch but it seems to have a slight adjustment problem, you have
to click it back one notch after you start it or else the starter keeps
running is this normal? Or will this change as it is used? Another big job
was taking the doors apart to replace all the seals in the side windows but
they are a nice snug fit now and they look all brand new! Now we still have
to do the front window and I think that will probably be even harder! Of
course you guys already know all this! We got the seat kits vinyl to
recover the seats but are still waiting for the foam for the backs so that
will be awhile, its not like there isn't something else that needs done on
this car<LOL> We are starting to put in the new carpets and have recovered
some of the vinyl pieces and repaired the ones that could be, so this little
car is going to look pretty sharp! Seems like everyday another part arrives
and it seems almost as good as Christmas! We finally got hard copy of some
catalogs and that makes it easier for finding the parts we need, when they
came in the mail I saw them for about 2 seconds when my almost 16 year old
son whisked them away and said"Cool car parts catalogs" these are mine!!
For those of you that don't know the only mail that has ever excited him is
percussion stuff! He is a drummer! So it was neat to see him so excited
about car parts! Well this weekend I convinced my husband that it would be
great if I could have a daily driver sports car, now don't send out the
shooting squad I do love my midget it is the car that turned me into a
fanatic 25 years ago, since then restored and goes to shows and Sunday
drives to the beach, but every time I drive it I am so afraid something will
happen to it as it has such a history and is a part of me kind of like one
of my kids. Well my Dear husband bought me a 2001 Miata for our anniversary
to drive everyday! An I have to say I love the car! I think in some ways
my husband is relieved as this one can go to the dealer to be fixed, since
he is responsible for the care of the 2 MG's so less stress there! I still
can appreciate a true sports car if it had not been for the MG's Miata's
would not exist, I love the handling and the extra safety features and the
extra gears that would be 6!! What fun that is! Anyway don't think I don't
still love the MG's but I think I now have a new sports car to add to my
favorite cars!

Have a Great Day!
