I've got around 136,000 miles on my 72 B engine without tearing it down.
Still has good oil pressure and compression. Perhaps on shirt sleave
rebuilds, the bearing only last for 30K. In fact that happened to me after
I did my first rebuild on a 49 Ford. Blew it up going over the West (By
God) Virginia hills. Of course that was about 43 years ago when I was 16
and didn't know what I was doing. (Still don't know what I'm doing by the
way, just faking it).
