If they have been dry for a while, adding fluid may make them work better,
but I will bet they should be rebuilt.
You can buy rebuilts from fellow lister Peter C. at World Wide Auto Parts in
WI (of all places! They don't have TastyKakes or scrapple up there!).
Contact him at nosimport@mailbag.com for a quote. He has very reasonable
prices, and he is considered THE authority on lever shox in the USA. Just
wait til you see how many posts recommend him! You will not be disappointed
in his products or his service.
If you just want to try a fill, buy some motorcycle fork oil at a motorcycle
shop. 20 or 30 weight is good for street use.
