'bout 25 years ago I bought a 68 MGB-GT from a couple of goofy kids who had
inherited it from their dad for $200. It had been well stored but the engine
would only turn over about a half revolution. Well, I got it home and
started to pull the motor, when I took the exhaust manifold off I discovered
that mice had competely filled up the manifold and ports with pumpkin seeds.
They were in the combustion chambers in two cylinders, so motor wouldn't
turn over. Moral to the story- Always plug the exhaust pipe! I use one of
those bogus rubber freeze plugs with the bolt in the middle (only thing I've
found they're good for).
