Probably because the Ignitor fires at the given relative *rotational*
positions of magnet and pick-up and the relative *radial* positions i.e. cam
wobble are insignificant.  With mechanical points the relative radial
positions of cam lobe and fixed contact have as much of an effect on
precisely when the points open as the rotational position of the cam.
