As long as the lockout switch is working, and this can be checked by putting
the manual switch on and off whilst in 1st or 2nd (it *shouldn't* engage)
there is absolutely no problem in leaving the manual switch on and using
reverse - that is what the lockout switch is for!

work fine. We did check and confirmed the lock out switch for the od was
working during one of our many diagnostic sessions. That is probably what
saved me from myself.
