Broken Axle

I broke an axle and spider gear on my MGA last week.  I am pulling a
differential out of an early steel wheel MGB to replace the A differential
and need to know if I can use the B axles in my A housing.  I would prefer
to use the multispline axles of the B over the 10 spline of the A.  Since I
only have 1 good MGA axle it would be easier to just use the B axles.
Anyone know if it is a direct swap?
