There's a tune up kit for SU's that includes two stems used to
synchronize SU's.  You remove the oil fill cap and wedge this stem in.

Now here's a Red Greene idea.

1)  Remove the camp and insert this tube.
2)  Duct tape a ruler behind the tube so you can see how much it rises.
3)  Add another tachometer and duct tape it close to the ruler so both
can be seen at the same time.
4)  Duct tape a video camera focused on the ruler, tube, and tachometer.
5)  Remove the bonnet.
6)  Go for a ride and when you return watch your video.
