Barney this is a little rough, but will give you the basics.

With the motor stopped.
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Be sure the vehicles connectorsare free of dirt, corrosion, and poor
contact.
3. Connect the D+ terminal verifying the order of the nuts and washers as per
fig. 1
      Nut
      Lock Washer
      D+ Terminal
      Washer
4.Mount the regulator on the chassis checking that the ground connection is
bolted on simultaneously with the regulator.
5. Connect the 3/8" female press-on terminal/terminals to the double B+
terminal of the regulator. Be certain the the connection is tight, if
nottighten the connector as shown in fig. 2
6. Connetct the terminalsDF and 61 verifying that they are good & tight if
not see fig. 2
7. Turn the starter key , verifying that the charging light illuminates if
not check the electrical installation.
8. Start the motor and accelerate, verifying that the charging light goes
off, if not change the generator polarity.
To change the polarity.

With the reg. installed and connected and the motor running.
With a piece of insulated wire 16 ga or less (bigger)make a short circuit
between terminal B & D for a second. The light will go out and stay off after
removing the jumper. If not check the electrical installation.
