They are used for when the half tonneau is in position or the full tonneau
used as a hood cover to give a neat finish. The handbook also says that
they can be used when the full is used as a full to lift up the centre and
stop any rain pooling in the middle and dripping through the zip. However
they show the bars in the wrong place for this - they should be turned round
and used in front of the seats.
