No way.  Those things would stick out past your fenders.  Pass on the bidding.

9mm is just shy of 3/8".  If I recall correctly the original wheels have a 
large negative offset about -1-5/8" for all of the standard wheels, whether 
they were 4 or 4-1/2 or 5" wide.  That -3/8 (still negative) offset would 
set the centerline of the wheel outward 1-1/4".  The additional 2" to 3" of 
rim width would add 1" to 1-1/2" to each side of the wheel, making the 
outside of the rim 2-1/4" to 2-3/4" farther out than stock 
configuraton.  The tire tread would be positoined under the fender bead 
where it would rub on the smallest bump (if not even when standing still).

For wheels up to about 6" wide, look for about 1-1/2" negative offset.  For 
wider wheels, I have no experience on the MGB, but you may run into 
interference with the inside sidewall of the tire, and setting the tire 
farther out will interfere with the fenders.
