Modern acrylic enamels (with hardener) dry very rapidly - On a 70deg
day, the paint should be hardened in a couple of hours. I painted a car
a couple of months ago and after waiting 2 hours, I could confidently
color sand the paint and buffed it in the evening. No harm done to
the finish. Not sure on lacquer - haven't used it for years.
