I have K&N's in my MGA (and other cars), but have recently had a
recommendation to switch to #6 needles due to the increased air flow. Not
even sure what I ahvein there now, but strictly stock. My car has run great
this way for the last 4 years. Engine out this winter, so something I will
look into.

Many years ago I used to run without air cleaners, but then, I did a lot of
crazy stuff many years ago.
