I rubbed down the existing surface and used two coats of Hammerite satin
gloss, then liberally coated the top surface with Waxoyl including the
mounting flanges and all mounting ironmongery. After fitting the front
corners and front half of the sides benefits from a coat of Waxoyl underbody
seal to resist stone chips.
