Probably the simplest way, and the easiest to go back, is to remove the two
brown/yellows from the regulator and link them together and insulate them.
At the alternator this wire should go to the smallest of the three spades.
Remove the brown and brown/green wires from the regulator, link them
together and insulate them, and connect the brown/green to one of the two
large spades on the alternator. Leave the regulator in-situ for a future
owner, and that's it. You should have no problems supplying normal loads
from the alternator over the existing wiring, but to supply larger loads
(like A/C!) add a thick brown from the other large spade on the alternator
direct to the battery cable stud on the solenoid, and instead of using the
brown green between alternator and the browns that came off the regulator
use another thick brown, and leave both ends of the brown/green taped back
and insulated.

Not sure what you mean by '1(5,6,7) ACR' but the original Lucas 16, 17 and
18 ACRs are reckoned by some to not be up to the job of supplying normal
loads, let alone something like A/C. Not that I've ever had any problems
with them on my standard cars.
