Just got the latest Grassroots. There is a
couple page article on a guy in Florida that dropped
a Volvo B23E in his '77. He owns a Volvo shop. 4 speed
from a P1800 with a Laycock overdrive (switch on the
shift knob and the clutch pedal) which was also used
in a TR6. They are saying it's 145 HP DIN. Not bad

I won't be doing that.

He also formed his own (ugly) front bumper from
some sort of foam overlayed in fiberglass. Then
he 'bonded' metal mounting plates to it and mounted
it to the stock mounting points. He also removed
the chrome strips along the side.

So what is this foam they are talking about? What's
it like to work with? Dropping 60 pounds off the nose
of the car is tempting.

I also like the idea of getting rid of the chrome strips.
Any opinions on that?

The car is a shocking yellow.
