Bob,
I did a quick web-search for any info I could find on the Borg Warner T-35
automatic. It appears to have been fitted to a variety of cars in the 60's and
early 70's. Perhaps a search of your local junkyard for one the following
vehicles could be a starting point for you:

1961-63 & 68 Rambler Americans
Jeep/AMC DJ-5 B & C (mail delivery vehicle) late 1970, 1971, early 1972 &
1973-74
Early 1960's Hillman Minx
1968-1973 Datsun 510, 1300, 1400, 1600

Also, there were some useful posts from a 1957 Metropolitan site:

One poster was told that "all trannies from any Datsun L series pickup should
work."

Another poster said his "junk yard supplied this list of Datsuns: 510 '71-73,
510 '78, 610 '73-76, 710 '74-77, 200SX '77-79, Pickup '73-79."

Another poster had "a Borg Warner T-35 Automatic from an Austin Marina bolted
up to an 1800 MGB engine. In addition to the Bell Housing being different,
the Tail assembly, the Spline and the location of the shifting mechanism
differs
from one tranny to another (On the early Datsuns, some of the shifting
linkages were on the passenger side and some were on the driver's side. Most
think
it's easier to use the tranny with linkage on the driver's side.) Another tip,
always take the torque converter, the flex plate and the starter with the
automatic that you take from the junk yards. Why the starter? Mating up the
starter to the 1500 has been troublesome to several members who have made this
conversion."

OK, here's my DISCLAIMER: I am not an expert on this subject in anyway!!!
There are probably other listers with far more knowledge. Obviously, mating
the
used transmission to your MGB engine and drive shaft will be the hardest part
of this sort of conversion. Hope some of this helps and good luck! (P.S.
Note that I found no references to the automatic MGB during my search!)

In our club we have an owner who lost her left leg. She too is
looking for an automatic for her MGB, and, when she locates one,
information about having it installed. If anyone could assist in finding
one and with installation information, please pass on to me so I can
share with her. We have been running an advert in our newsletter for a
type 35 Borg Warner, as fitted to the MGB automatics at the time, but
have not had responses.
