Yeah, but like it or not, this is still fraud. Someone is going to sell a
car that is documented as another car. The buyer may know or not know or
care or not care. But at the end of the day property is being sold under
false representation. It may be convenient or easy or solve a problem. It's
still fraud. Any state will register a vehicle that doesn't have the
original VIN plates. It has to be inspected and the state will affix a new
id plate of their own. Using old VIN plates or engine number plates, etc.
etc. serves no purpose other that to pretend to someone that a
car/motor/body is something that it is, in fact, not.

There, got that off my chest.
