A while ago I joined in a question about why my 66 MGB would suddenly veer to
the left when letting off the accelerator at high speed. Several people
suggested that I check the rear axle to spring u-bolts. This weekend I
finally got under my car and although the nuts seemed tight I gave each an
extra turn. I then went for a fast ride on a beautiful Sunday in L.A. and the
problem seems to be totally gone. So, even though the nuts seemed tight I
guess there was just enough movement to be causing the problem.
