Ok, you are talking the knockoff thread, not the spline.  The later cars
went to a coarse thread.  The MGC would be coarse thread, the change was
pretty early for the MGB,off the top of my head in 64 or so.

What are you trying to do?  Maybe I can be more helpful if I know.
