For me, it's supposed German car enthusiasts who pronounce

I've ever encountered was the bartender who suggested that a
friend and I try their new beer - a "Heef Weezen". Ever
since, whenever I order a Hefeweizen, I make a point of
pronouncing it "Heef Weezen" just to gauge the bartender's
reaction. Those who wince get a bigger tip. :-)
