Can't say on Moss, as I haven't ordered leather from them. I did order
leather seats from Prestige - they are leather on just the seating faces.
I'm not going to say I highly recommend Prestige, but I'm happy with what
I have out of the purchase. The vinyl on non-seating surfaces actually
makes a lot of good sense, as one needs the vinyl to be able to stretch
and tighten things in. I had a jaguar interior custom made in all leather
(no vinyl), and the place making it had a heck of a time assembling seats
with cushions and frames - no stretch-ability.
Connolly (sp??) leather is different from other leathers - but they're all
leather. The key difference is in the grain pattern - which is more or
less embossed by the processor of that particular leather. You can get
grain patterns similar to connolly. Other differences exist in the
thickness of the hide, and the dying process. All is a moot point,
however, as Connolly went bankrupt about 2 years ago, and there is none
left (other than existing old stock). Seems as jaguar upped production,
and needed more leather, Connely lost more and more money - not a good
situation - so they're under like much of the british auto industry. And
this should be a lesson to those in the US too.
