Hello Friends,
I made some progress this weekend disassembling my
MGB's dash in preparation for restoration. Here's the
car with the dash removed
http://www.aubard.us/MGB/dash01.jpg . On the
left-hand side of the dash is a crack caused by
shrinking vinyl over 37 years. In this picture you
can see the Leatherique (brand) crack-filler,
partially cured http://www.aubard.us/MGB/dash02.jpg .
At the lower edge of the dash, out of sight when
installed, are a few more damaged bits. These are
caused by ham-fisted removal and installation of the
console nestle. Here's a picture of that repair,
again with crack-filler curing
http://www.aubard.us/MGB/dash03.jpg . This picture,
http://www.aubard.us/MGB/dash04.jpg , shows the
instrument pod with the instruments removed. The
whole dash, once repaired and the Coverlay installed,
will be repainted with flexible vinyl paint.

The instruments need cleaning, testing and reassembly
with new gaskets http://www.aubard.us/MGB/gauge01.jpg
, http://www.aubard.us/MGB/gauge02.jpg . The picture
of the oil pressure gauge gives some indication of the
work ahead http://www.aubard.us/MGB/gauge03.jpg .

Happy Sunday evening!
