I had similar problems with my '79B. I checked all the wiring and grounds,
replaced the switch with new. Nothing. Then I put in a new signal flasher,
and it has worked perfectly since.

Can't seem to get my signals to work.  The hazard switch works and all  the 
lights blink, but when I try left and right, nothing.  I checked every
ground
