I've been using an older model TomTom in my B and TD. With the top down on a
sunny day on the highway, I can't hear the tiny built-in speaker nor see the
washed-out screen. My solution was to plug an amplified speaker into the
headphone output. This has worked out very well, I still can't see the screen,
but I can hear the spoken directions. I would like to get a new GPS, but none
of the new models has a headphone output. (OK, there are a couple of
motorcycle models that still have a headphone output, but they are north of
$800!)

I'm wondering what other MG'ers are doing for GPS - in the sun, on the
highway, with the top down.

BTW, my hearing and sight are normal, I was just being glib in the subject
line.
