The May/June issue of MGB Driver, NAMGBRegister's magazine, had an article
by Jai Deagan about his making a bracket to fit his Garmin to his MGB. No big
deal, one might say, except that they block one's vision. His idea fits it
above the mirror and, he says, it works well. The current issue shows a GPS
fitted in place of the face-level vents. Neither article addresses the
visibility and audibility questions. Bob

I've been using an older model TomTom in my B and TD. With the top down on a
sunny day on the highway, I can't hear the tiny built-in speaker nor see the
washed-out screen. My solution was to plug an amplified speaker into the
headphone output. This has worked out very well, I still can't see the
screen,
but I can hear the spoken directions. I would like to get a new GPS, but none
of the new models has a headphone output. (OK, there are a couple of
motorcycle models that still have a headphone output, but they are north of
$800!)

I'm wondering what other MG'ers are doing for GPS - in the sun, on the
highway, with the top down.

BTW, my hearing and sight are normal, I was just being glib in the subject
line.
