I have '67 4/4 with the cross-flow 1600 cc engine. It also overheated ALL
the time!
I did the following to cure the problem:
1. Installed an electric fan in front of the radiator controlled by a
dashboard switch.
2. Re-cored the radiator with more efficient heat transfer material and
extended the length of the radiator core a few inches.
3. Installed a plate under the radiator - from grill to just before the
block - to channel the air.
No more troubles. Did them in the above sequence and got the most "bang'
from #2.
