Why? I got 13 TRS80s Mod 1s, 3s, 4 and a 4P. All still working and
in occassional use.

However, the computer I'm using mostly was purchased new in Jan.
of 94 using the Phoenix BIOS A486 Ver 1.01.E. I'm using Dos 6.2
and Windows for Work Groups. This problem is also manifested in
the Award BIOS V4.50 series.

The problem/fix is 2 fold. One problem is with the operating system
and how much space is allocated for the date data in the directory.
The 2nd problem is with the BIOS and how it processes data from the
Real Time Clock Chip.

CNET (http://www.cnet.com/) has a nice series on the Apocalypes of
the Millenium.
