John,

The OPTIMAL is a "drycell" type battery made so it can be mounted in
"any direction"; laying on its side or what ever.  It is, of course,
totally sealed and is a somewhat odd shape in that it looks like a
series of cylinders lined up and attached together, 3 in a line for 6V
and two lines of 3 for 12V.   It was absolutely amazing the difference
it has made to starting, lights, etc.  Everyone that I know that has
gone to the OPTIMA has "sworn off" conventional batteries.

I purchased the OPTIMAL at Batteries Plus for $78.99 (plus tax of
course).

If anyone is interested, Batteries Plus is located at 903 E. El Camino
in Mtn. View, CA.  The phone number is (415) 938-2288.  The store
manager is a heck of a nice guy named Kenny Preston.

I also see it advertised in various places like AutoWeek and other
magazines.
