There has been interest expressed of late in events. Herein I submit my
report.

Last Sunday the MSCCC staged another in its Escarpment Run sequels. The
original host of the prior year Runs had suffered a stroke & was
recuperating. To the rescue, long-time members Ray & Mary Shier stepped in
to save the day. Members & guests brought what was road worthy. This
included 6 Morgans, Bugatti, Jaguar saloon, Miata, Mustang, TR3, MGA, and a
1940's Hudson; among assorted late-model daily drivers.
"Founding Father" Al Sands flashed his custom made teeth that would
have done Austin Powers proud! Says he to the waitress at the Queen's Head
Pub: "Do you serve corn on the cob"? It was refreshing to have a number of
young people involved & enthused about this event, given that we are
generally a grey-haired lot! The Run was both a scenic tour followed by a
rally, for those braver souls. The questions were relatively easy on the
rally. Despite having the blessing (?) of 2 navigators, your humble scribe
finished 3rd - receiving a pair of work gloves, to get a better grip on the
"3 quick right turns" (which equalled a left). Winner of the auspicious
event was the Past Prez of the Toronto Triumph Club, members Malcolm &
Brenda Taylor.
Participants settled down to food & drink at a BBQ hosted by the
Shier's. As has become custom, Prez Vern D-J awarded a gift to the Shier's
(including Rally Master Tim) for their efforts.

On the Friday prior, your scribe & Hellen Hogmog were joined by several
friends from the MG Club of Toronto, in MGs, at a local cigar get-together,
to share a common interest in cars, cigars, & fine spirits. A most pleasant
impromptu evening!

This weekend, for those not in Rhinebeck, there are a few items of note.
MSCCC member Paul Whitakker is hosting a Canada Day Rally under the MG Club
banner. We hope the Morgans are competitive! On Sunday, is the annual
Classics Against Cancer Car Show, founded by member Neil Young. No doubt
Vern, The Shiers, & others will once again be among the several hundred cars
who support this fine cause! Details may be found at the Morgan site below.

Signing off from the social center of the Great White North. Hope all your
events are safe & happy ones!

Faihfully,
Harry "Winston" Hogmog, Esquire DSM (Distinguished Service
Morgan-"Hogmogateers")
