Kathi, I thought you might be interested in what I
believe was the largest "Spirit of Ecstasy" fitted to a RR car.
Approximately 36 years ago my cousin had what he told me was the largest RR
ever made. I used to spend a lot of time cleaning it. It was a "one off "
built for Andrew Carnegie, I believe it was fitted with a Merlin engine. I
remember well that it did 4 MPG (UK) and also that he was done ( booked) for
speeding through Mussleborough. Near Edinburgh. One final thing I remember
was that he used to remove her (Ecstasy) and fit a pressure gauge type cap
when intending to visit local hostelries etc.
