Hi Bob,
Must admit, I'm a bit confused by the comments...

As far as I know, the only Morgan sidelight to come with the frosted glass lens
AND the circular pattern plastic lens is the Lucas 1130, with two fixing studs,
fitted to the Series I 4/4 and reintroduced later, apparently in the early 70's.
I believe that the frosted glass was correct only for the early cars, however it
may be preferred for later cars because it has a good looking chrome rim and
won't melt with hotter bulbs.

The Lucas 516 is what would be original, of course, on your SS. Unlike the
1130,
it has only a single fixing stud and is smaller. The only lenses I've seen on
the 516 have a circular pattern of rings but are made of glass, not plastic.
Many people have substituted the 1130 in place of the 516 to get a larger lamp
suitable for turn flashers, sometimes fitted with amber bulbs, or to get a
stronger, two bolt fixing of the front wings.

For a long period of time, the 516 was very difficult to find, but it's now
readily obtained from the usual Morgan vendors or from Holden.

If I'm wrong on this, please straighten me out, guys!

John Bigler
