Casey, been out of town on vacation for a couple of weeks and just got your
post. Yep, some of the '47s did have a column shift. Mine does. When I
first got the truck, I thought it had been converted to a column shift, but
was told by several knowledgeable people that some of the '47s did have the
3-speed column shifter.

The '47 2nd Series (first Advance Design pickup) was introduced in the
Summer of 1947. Could be that Chevy started putting some "new" parts on the
late '47s and later decided to use them exclusively....like on all the '48s.
Just my guess.

Bob Adler....any data on this??
