I am in the process of rebuilding the 336ci engine from my 58 GMC and have
a couple of questions regarding what should or should not be painted.

1. I have heard that freeze plugs were installed after the engine was
mostly assembled and PAINTED. If this is true than the plugs would not be
painted. So question is painted or plain.

2. Is the pushrod/lifter valley cover painted or unpainted.

3. Is the intake manifold painted or unpainted.

I am trying to make this as original as possible and appreciate any and all
comments, especially from anyone that has a 58 GMC with original engine in
original non restored (repainted) condition.
Thanks in advance to all that respond to these questions. Even though I
may at times forget to thanks you folks for your comments and replies, they
are greatly appreciated.
