Jerry,
I got a few Franklin Mint models that are incredibly detailed, and I would
jump at a Chevy truck model in a heartbeat (pardon the pun on the Chevy
slogan). I should write to Franklin Mint and inquire about them procuring
a line of Chevy truck models from their supplier. I have seen cheapo
models of '55 2nd stepsides at the local swap meet. They have large and
small scale versions. My wife got me the small one because the poor
craftsmanship is less obvious. It is red and closely resembles my '57.
If anybody knows of such models, please contact me.

Saw
some at Wal-mart....

Well, I search for diecast cars and trucks, and love to collect them. I
found several new ones recently. Johnny Lightning has a new Post Office
truck
series, with a '55 Chevy Cameo in white with blue and red stripes, for $4.
Also a '59 El Camino,a '72 El Camino, 29 Model T, '60s Studebaker, '91 GMC
Cyclone, and a '40's Ford p/u. They're pretty cool looking, so far only
seen
them at Toys R Us and Target stores.
At Wal-mart tonite, I found a new toy company called Liberty Classics.
They had several different trucks out of the usual mainstream, in 1/24th
scale I believe ( 6" long) . One was a '71-72 Chevy fleetside longbed in
red
and white for $15. Another was a '57 Dodge 100 Sweptside p/u truck in
Turquoise and white. Neat truck! don't see many of those every day.
Racing Champions also has many new ones out under WFW wrestling and Hot
Rod series, with quite a few old trucks featured, as well as some
custom/chopped/lowerrider trucks now showing up.
Well (yawn) time for bed! Be dreamin' about TF's tonite...lol
